,, Taibinha has once again established itself as one of the best spots for Brazilian bodyboarding
Taíba Beach hosted an epic opening of the 2026 Ceará Bodyboarding Circuit. From March 20 to 22, excellent waves broke along the Ceará coastline, and high-level athletes took advantage of the swell to give their best performances in front of the judges.

“The first stop of the Ceará Bodyboarding Circuit exceeded all our expectations. The waves were generous, the athletes delivered outstanding performances, and the community cheered during every heat,” said Marcelo Barros, president of the Ceará Bodyboarding Federation (FBCE).

The highlight of the event was Luna Hardman from Espírito Santo, the current leader of the world circuit. Freshly arrived from Hawaii, Luna confirmed her favoritism. The women’s final also marked a historic moment on the podium: Neymara and Luna, mother and daughter, stood together, symbolizing the renewal of the sport. “Seeing Luna win the title alongside Neymara on the same podium was a privilege. Taibinha has once again established itself as one of the best spots for Brazilian bodyboarding. We are ready for the next events of the Brazilian circuit, which will begin in just a few days!” Marcelo concluded.

In the men’s division, Victor Batista secured the stop title, taking the lead in the state ranking race. “For me, being consistent throughout the event made all the difference. I was very happy to win, especially since I finished as runner-up in the last two championships,” Victor explained.

Neymara Carvalho is a five-time world champion and founder of the Neymara Carvalho Institute, which for 20 years has been teaching bodyboarding to promote social inclusion and the development of citizens and athletes. On Saturday, the champion led a social class that brought together around 200 children and teenagers from local surf schools in São Gonçalo do Amarante and the surroundings. The initiative transformed the beach into a learning space, where participants learned basic techniques such as balance and respect for the ocean. To crown the experience, the group planted native trees, promoting ecosystem preservation and leaving a green legacy that inspires the community to care for its environment.

The Brazilian championship also takes place in Taíba on the last weekend of March.
Now, attention turns to the first stage of the Brazilian Professional Bodyboarding Circuit, which will take place from March 26 to 29, also at Taibinha. Ceará athletes will have the strategic advantage of competing at home, aiming for strong results.
